Mazeno La Expedition Tour (8 Days)

Arrive at Gilgit Airport and begin a scenic drive towards Tarishing, the gateway to the legendary Rupal Face of Nanga Parbat. The route passes through Jaglot, Ramghat, Mushkin, Hercho, Astore, and Gurikot, unveiling dramatic valleys and alpine landscapes along the way.

The road remains smooth until Gurikot; the final hour is rugged, for which a 4x4 jeep is recommended. Upon arrival in Tarishing, transfer to Nanga Parbat Inn — a simple, authentic mountain lodge offering basic comforts and toilet facilities.

Trekking Time: ~6 hours | Altitude: 3,270 m

After an early breakfast, begin your trek toward Polish Base Camp via Rupal Village. The first hour is challenging, involving a steep ascent to Tarishing Glacier. Crossing the glacier takes approximately 20 minutes, followed by a steady trek onward.

After about two hours, reach Rupal Village, where a short tea break is planned. Continue trekking to Upper Rupal Village, stopping here for lunch amid spectacular mountain views.

Post-lunch, proceed toward Polish Base Camp, also known locally as Bichee Camp and internationally as Herligkoffer Base Camp. Surrounded by towering rock walls and glaciers, this campsite sits directly beneath the imposing Rupal Face of Nanga Parbat.

Trekking Time: ~3 hours (one way) | Altitude: 3,200 m

After breakfast, set out on a scenic trek to Latobo, the traditional base camp of Nanga Parbat. The trail offers uninterrupted views of icefalls, hanging glaciers, and the immense south face of the mountain.

Spend the day exploring the surroundings and absorbing the scale and silence of this legendary landscape.

Trekking Time: ~2 hours | Altitude: 3,435 m

Today’s trek leads to Shaigiri, a pristine alpine meadow offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. The walk is relatively short yet richly rewarding, revealing some of the most dramatic perspectives of the Rupal Face.

A day reserved for rest, exploration, and quiet reflection amid nature. Enjoy short walks, photography, or simply take in the grandeur of one of the world’s most awe-inspiring mountain faces.

Trekking Time: 8–9 hours

After breakfast, begin the long descent back to Tarishing, retracing your route via Rupal Village. This full-day trek offers a final immersion into the dramatic terrain and changing landscapes of the region.

Drive back to Gilgit via Astore, Ramghat, and Jaglot, enjoying the last glimpses of the mountain valleys.
