Hunza – Rakaposhi BC – Skardu (7 Days)

Early morning flight PK-451 to Skardu, considered one of the most beautiful mountain flights in the world (as featured by National Geographic). An Airbus A320 takes you over three of the world’s highest mountain ranges — the Himalayas, Karakoram, and Hindukush.

The 45-minute flight passes over Naran, Babusar Pass, and the majestic Nanga Parbat, the 8th highest mountain in the world. On a clear day, you may also witness K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II, and even Mount Everest in the far distance.

Upon arrival in Skardu, drive towards Hunza via Astak Nala (3–4 hours). At Alam Bridge, the junction of three major mountain ranges, join the Karakoram Highway and turn right into Gilgit Valley. Continue driving for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach Gilgit town.

En route, make a short stop at Partab Pul, where the western end of the Himalayas meets the Karakoram and Hindukush ranges. After the stop, continue along the Gilgit River to the small town of Minawar, bypass Gilgit city, and proceed towards Hunza Valley.

A short stop is recommended at the Rakaposhi View Point for refreshments and uninterrupted views of Rakaposhi (7,788 m) standing majestically in front of you. Continue the drive to Karimabad, Hunza. Upon arrival, transfer to Serena Hotel Hunza for dinner and overnight stay.

After a relaxed breakfast, visit Karimabad Bazaar, Karimabad Town, and the historic 700-year-old Altit and Baltit Forts, along with Altit Village.

Later, proceed to Duikar (Roof of Hunza), offering breathtaking panoramic views of Hunza and Nagar Valleys. The sunset view from Duikar is unforgettable. Enjoy traditional local cuisine.
Dinner and overnight stay at Serena Hotel Hunza

After breakfast, drive to Gulmit / Passu (approximately 1 hour) for a day excursion combined with short hikes. Hikes may range from 1 to 4 hours, depending on guest preference.

Visit Attabad Lake, the Attabad Tunnels, the famous Hussaini Suspension Bridge, and enjoy spectacular views of the Passu Cones.
In the evening, drive back to Hunza. Dinner and overnight stay at Serena Hotel Hunza.

After breakfast, drive to Minapin (approximately 1 hour). Continue driving up to Minapin Nala, from where the trek begins.

Trek 3–4 hours from Minapin to Hapakun Camp (2,800 m). The trek covers 5.8 km with an ascent of 800 m. After one hour, reach the first shepherds’ hut (Bangi Dass) and enjoy views of the opposite Naseerabad, Hunza Valley.

After a short stop, continue hiking for another 2 hours to reach Hapakun campsite, offering stunning views of Hachindar and Maiun Peaks.
Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

After breakfast, begin the trek with a packed lunch. Trek to Rakaposhi Base Camp (Taghaphari – 3,658 m), which takes approximately 2 hours.

At the base camp, enjoy breathtaking views of Rakaposhi and Diran Peak, along with panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon, begin the return trek to Minapin (approximately 4 hours).

From Minapin, drive 2 hours to Gilgit. Upon arrival, transfer to Serena Hotel Gilgit for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, drive to Skardu (approximately 4 hours) via Alam Bridge, Shangus, and Astak Nala.

Upon arrival, visit Shangri-La Resort and Lake, Upper Kachura Lake, and Skardu Town.
Dinner and overnight stay at a Skardu hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to Skardu Airport for your flight back to Islamabad.
