Skardu – Shigar – Gilgit – Hunza Tour

Your journey begins with a flight to Skardu, widely regarded as one of the most breathtaking mountain flights in the world. An Airbus A320 carries you over two of the planet’s greatest mountain ranges — the Himalayas and the Karakoram — with an average flight time of 1 hour and 50 minutes.

For the most spectacular views, request a right-side window seat when flying toward Skardu. Marvel at Nanga Parbat, the world’s 8th highest peak, the winding Indus River, and Sadpara Lake. On exceptionally clear days, the panorama may also reveal K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I & II, and even Mount Everest shimmering in the far distance.

Upon arrival in Skardu, drive to Kachura for a short visit to the iconic Shangri-La Resort and the crystal-clear Upper Kachura Lake. In the afternoon, continue toward Shigar — a scenic 1 hour and 45-minute drive passing through Skardu town, Hassanabad, and the famed Sarfaranga Cold Desert, set along the right bank of the mighty Indus River.

After breakfast, set out to explore the cultural and natural highlights of Shigar Valley. Visit the dramatic Sarfaranga Cold Desert, the serene Blind Lake, and the UNESCO Award–winning Amburiq Mosque (14th century), along with the nearby Khilingrong Mosque.

After an early breakfast, check out and begin your drive to Gilgit (6–7 hours) via the dramatic Indus Gorge, Astak, and Alam Bridge, where you join the legendary Karakoram Highway.

Upon arrival in Gilgit, enjoy lunch at Serena Hotel Gilgit, followed by a 2.5-hour drive to Hunza Valley. En route, pause at the Rakaposhi Viewpoint for refreshments and uninterrupted views of Rakaposhi (7,788 m) rising majestically before you.

Continue onward to Hunza and check in at Serena Hotel Hunza or Roomy Hunza (guest’s choice).

After a relaxed breakfast, explore Karimabad Bazaar and the historic Altit and Baltit Forts, both over 700 years old, along with Altit Village.

Later, ascend to Duikar — the Roof of Hunza, offering sweeping views of Hunza and Nagar Valleys. The sunset from Duikar is an unforgettable spectacle. Enjoy traditional local cuisine.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Gulmit / Passu (approximately 1 hour). Visit the turquoise Attabad Lake, pass through the Attabad Tunnels, walk across the iconic Hussaini Suspension Bridge, and admire the striking Passu Cones.

After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to the Khunjerab Pass, the highest paved international border crossing in the world. Drive via Sost and Koksal, with the round trip taking approximately 6–7 hours.

After breakfast, check out and drive to the beautiful Hopper Valley and Hopper Glacier (approximately 2 hours). After exploring the valley, continue your journey to Skardu (5–6 hours).

Transfer to Skardu Airport for your return flight to Karachi, concluding a remarkable journey through Pakistan’s northern highlands.
